I attended the Duarte Senior Center's book club on Monday. The club read my book for their February title and invited me to come hear their feedback and to ask me questions. Talk about nervous! This was the first time I would be talking to people about my book who weren't friends or family. Would they like it?
They did! They did!
I was thrilled and surprised by some of their comments, such as one reader looking forward to reading each night, and another who had grown attached to the horses. Another told me she liked my voice - we had given her access to the audio files (in progress).
All in all it was a great experience. If they hadn't liked it? If they had given me a lot of criticism? Well, then, maybe I wouldn't be bragging about it.
Over the next few months I'll be posting event dates for a talk at the Monrovia Rotary Club and the Duarte Museum. Starting local!
